Magic Lily
This print was inspired by an event which took place 19 years ago. The day before my wedding, gorgeous pink flowers magically appeared in the garden where I was having a get-together for my bridesmaids. The woman who owned the house told me I could cut some of the blooms for my centerpieces. Almost two decades later that event came to mind when I saw the seed pods of the same flowers on a walk. They reminded me of a ring of girls with pony-tails high on their heads. Even though both the flowers and I were past our prime, I saw such beauty in the way the dried flowers hung from the seed heads. And although my hair is starting to grey I am still dancing in that ring of pony-tailed girls. It is amazing to see how a small seed of kindness grew into a linocut print almost two decades later.
